The Fender Foto Finish Jazz Bass is 1 of a fairly small batch of Japanese Jazz Basses.
One of the more distinctive features of these Fender Japan models is the Foto Flame finish. Despite its convincing three-dimensional appearance, the flame effect isn’t created from a thick, figured maple top. Instead, Fender Japan used a thin decorative layer designed to reproduce the look of highly figured wood.
